🤫 Stop Quietly Sabotaging Your Winter Glow!

We've all been there. The air gets crisp, the sweaters come out, and somehow, your skincare routine starts to slide. Maybe you're chasing that perfect "winter glow," but if your skin feels tight, dry, or secretly sensitive, I’m here to tell you: you might be doing more harm than good.

Let's address the habits that are silently sabotaging your complexion right now, and how to course-correct immediately.

🛑 The Three Glow-Killers You Need to Quit

1. Still Skipping SPF? (The Ultimate No-No)

Just because the days are shorter and the air is cooler does not mean the UV rays have packed up and gone home.

A crucial reminder: UVA = Aging. These rays are out every single day, penetrating clouds and glass, and they are responsible for long-term collagen breakdown.

This isn't negotiable. Make SPF your non-negotiable final step in the morning, even if you don't plan on leaving the house. Your future skin will thank you.

2. Over-Exfoliating for that "Glow"

I know you want that smooth, bright look, but if you’re scrubbing or using strong actives daily, you’re likely pushing your skin past its limit.

Fall and winter bring drier air, which means your skin’s natural barrier is already under stress. When you over-exfoliate, you compromise this barrier, leading to:

  • Redness and sensitivity.

  • Increased dryness and flakiness.

  • That dreaded "tight" feeling.

Your barrier needs support, not aggressive scrubbing. Take a step back and let your skin heal.

3. Ignoring the Neck & Chest

Your skincare routine shouldn't stop at your chin!

The skin on your neck (cervical area) and décolletage (chest) is thinner, has fewer oil glands, and shows signs of aging faster (and quieter!) than your face. They are constantly exposed to environmental stressors but are often the first place we forget.

The Fix: Treat your neck and chest just like your face. Cleansing, hydration, serums, and most importantly, SPF protection. No exceptions.

✅ THE FIX: Winter Skincare Done Right

It’s time to pivot. Your cold-weather routine should be centered around protection, barrier support, and deep nourishment.

  • SPF Daily: Non-negotiable, 365 days a year.

  • Hydrating Cleansers: Switch to creams, milks, or oils that cleanse without stripping natural moisture.

  • Barrier Supporting Serums: Look for ingredients like ceramides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide to repair and strengthen.

  • Less Friction, More Nourishment: Swap aggressive physical scrubs for gentle chemical exfoliation (1-2x per week maximum) and focus on layering emollients and occlusives to lock in hydration.

Stop letting bad habits steal your radiance. Your winter glow is achievable—you just need the right strategy.
